Since 2017, Osen Family has been proudly serving sushi, kushiyaki and contemporary pan Asian cuisine. successful Japanese restaurant group that operates 2 direct stores: Izakaya Osen & Omakase by Osen in California.

IZAKAYA OSEN is a type of traditional Japanese bar and restaurant that serve alcoholic drinks and as well as inexpensive, small dishes and finger foods.

OMAKSE BY OSEN takes center stage. The fish hails from Japan, while all of the sauces including soy and vinegar are made in-house. And the multi-course meal highlights regional dishes from Japan as well.

Osen brings in the freshest seafood available daily and it is different from ordinary restaurants in that it mainly provides alcoholic beverages. Osen is well known for our kushiyaki and nabe selections which pairs well with our wide selection of wine, sake and Japanese craft beer. With fresh ingredients that come in on the day and know-how in cooking skills that have accumulated over the years, they cook with utmost sincerity. Osen Family corporate headquarters is located in Los Angeles, with locally-based managing partners and a full-time marketing and operations staff in every other market.

DAMON CHO | Founder, CEO, Owner Chef

Chef Damon Cho graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in California. With over 18 years of restaurant experience as a chef at Nobu, Four Seasons and Tao to learn the core values of the culinary field and good customer service. He continuously worked hard to develop quality recipes. He opened his first Japanese restaurant in San Francisco in 2009, the restaurant became a great success. It led to the opening of its second location in San Francisco in 2012. Since then, he has strived to share his belief that restaurants should not only be where people eat, but where people gather with family and friends for a quality time. With that in mind, he opened a Japanese restaurant called Izakaya Osen in 2017 at Silverlake. He will open Japanese restaurant at Irvine in October, 2022 and Omakase by Osen, specializes in Omakase and Hand Roll is opened from October 10th, 2022.

With over 20 years of Japanese restaurant experience as a chef at MOMOYAMA, IRORI, he learned the core values of the culinary field. Over the years, he fine-tuned his skills under a number of talented chefs. Since then, he is still challenged with one goal in mind: create the ultimate dining experience for guests in both artistic presentation and surprising flavors. Starting in 2018, he is the head chef of Izakaya Osen, serving the best meals to guests with artistic expression and amazing taste.
